I had guests and they left the bed unmade, just wondered if this is the proper thing to do.

House Guest Bed Etiquette

Thank you for your question!

As a guest in someone's home, you should always go the extra mile to be courteous and helpful. Each day you are staying there the bed should be made and your room cleaned up.

When your stay is over, the polite thing to do is remove the sheets, fold them and place them on the foot of the bed. The other blankets should be placed nicely on the bed, as well as the pillows. Even though the linens are going to be washed, it shows good manners to fold them nicely.

It is frustrating when guests take the invitation to make themselves at home too far. I hope this helps.
