How do I word that everyone one will need to pay for their own dinner at the celebration?

My son will be graduating, and we are meeting for dinner, but I would like everyone to pay for their own meal.

Graduation Celebration
by: Wendy (Modern Manners and Etiquette)

Thank you for your question.

Congratulations to your son for graduating! What a fantastic event to celebrate. It is fun to include family and friends in a celebration like this.

The wording on your invitation, whether they be handwritten or emailed can be quite simple, and straightforward.

An example could be:

We would love for you to join us in celebrating the graduation of (your son)! We will be having dinner at (restaurant) on (date, time).

*Please note that you will be responsible for paying for your meal*

Thank you for joining us!!!

Many people understand that you will not be able to cover the cost for everyone's meals. They are truly excited to be able to join in the celebration. Being straightforward is respectful and makes everything so much easier.

Best wishes and have a fantastic time!
